This course will provide an in-depth survey of European cinema regarded as a diversified whole. The course will contrast European production systems and film culture with Hollywood; as well, it will offer a comparative study of main themes like urbanization, immigration, the Holocaust and historical memory, gender roles, regional nationalisms and continental unification movements.
